After looking at the comments, the real problem isn't the knockout, it's a clamp that will work with access only to the inside of the box. Luckily, this is a solved problem. On Carlons and some others, the clamps are plastic tabs that you push the cable past as it goes into the box, that then spring back and grab the cable (sometimes). I often use a small flat screwdriver and give it a whack.
