I took it to a good repair shop locally and they called back saying the battery junction box under the hood is obsolete, Ford no longer makes them. So I've been searching everywhere and have found a few but not exactly the same boxes.
The junction box would be fine.as I've used both (the junction box and battery terminal) without any problems. I'd install a pretty good fuse block within 18" of the junction box (I always used streetwires, but any type would work.)
